CARING MINISTRIES AND PARISH NURSING
Health is a huge part of every day life and at OSL, having an eye on health is one way we support each other as the body of Christ. From tips about keeping healthy during the flu season to facilitating exercise classes to checking blood pressures on Sunday mornings, health is one more way faith is connected to everyday life at OSL.
Having an eye on health includes having a parish nurse on staff. Our Savior’s was one of the first churches in Sioux Falls to have a parish nurse on staff and has helped other congregations learn about and facilitate their own parish nursing programs. The OSL Parish Nurse, Joyce Kaatz, is also the director of the Sanford Parish Nurse Institute, which is housed at Our Savior’s. In partnership, OSL and Sanford recognize that faith is not separate from a person’s being, including their health, and we work together to enhance the ministry of the church through parish nursing. To learn more about parish nursing for your church, contact Joyce at jkaatz@oslchurch.com.
