Library

The OSL Library is one of the finest church libraries you will experience. The Library includes study tables, café seating, and internet and Wi-Fi access.


Guests who are not OSL members are welcome to use the Library too. Your name, address, and phone number are all that’s needed to check out items.

Library Hours

  • Sunday  8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Monday  9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
  • Tuesday  9:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon
  • Wednesday  9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • Thursday  9:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon
  • Friday  Closed
  • Saturday  10:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon. Additionally, 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month


Additional hours as staff and volunteers are available.


Print Materials

  • The Library includes more than 10,000 items for all age levels available for checkout.
  • Non-fiction subjects are classified under the Dewey Decimal system and include books on a wide spectrum of topics.
  • Reference materials include Old and New Testament commentaries, Bible dictionaries, atlases, and concordances.
  • Fiction titles include Christian, popular, and classics.
  • Large Print books are also available.
  • Children’s books are arranged by age from toddler through youth.


Non-Print Media

  • Music CDs for all ages
  • Books on CD (including the Bible)
  • Christian and educational DVDs
  • Popular wholesome movies for all ages


Checking out items from the Library

  • All items are checked out for three weeks except movies, which are one week.
  • There is a self-checkout procedure posted on the desk for times when no librarian or volunteer is available to assist you.


Special Services Offered

  • The Traveling Library is a delivery service available to OSL members unable to come to the Library in person. Library materials can be checked out by e-mail or phone. Deliveries and return pickups will be made by the Parish Cruiser.
  • Computers are available for browsing the internet and searching the card catalog.
  • Beautiful handcrafted recycled greeting cards and gift bags are available in the Library for a freewill donation. They are made by the talented Friends of the Library.
  • A Listening Station with headphones is available to try out music CDs.
  • Free magazines are available. Bring recent magazines you no longer want and choose other ones to take home.


Library Happenings

  • The semi-annual used book sale is held in the spring and the fall.
  • Writer’s group meets on Mondays at 11:00 a.m. in room 103
  • Short story discussion group meets Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in room 103. The group discusses faith-based fictional short stories.
  • Library book club meets the third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Library.
  • Pre-school storytime is held every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Library.
  • Coming soon: Library movie club will begin in September.
