Because worship is central to who we are, we provide a variety of worship experiences in which the Gospel is shared through word and sacraments.
Worship is central to who we are – it is the time when we come together as a community to collectively hear how God meets us in our everyday lives. So, in worship, we pray for each other and the world, sing praises and laments, and confess our faith and our doubts. In worship, we dig into scripture, listening for the Good News, and we gather around the table, where all – young and old, rich and poor, liberal and conservative, and everything in between – are fed and nourished with bread and wine, the very life of God poured out for you. Worship is where we discover God, ourselves, and one another and it is at the center of who we are.
Music draws us in and shapes how we worship; it helps us to express our faith. At Festive worships, the service takes on a more traditional feel with organ, brass, piano, and voices blending in time-honored ways. At Celebrate worships, the band with keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums lends a more contemporary, every-day feel to the worship service. Whatever service it is, music is important and at OSL, we strive to do it with excellence and vitality. We also strive to be a place where musical gifts are valued and shared, which you can see in the many choirs and music groups that are in place for all ages.
